I can think of the Green Triangle. They helped work on the Naturehood project, Vel's purple Oasis and the Good Earth garden on Madison. You can look them up at http://www.thegreentriangle.com/ Regards, -Divya

Tell us about yourself:
I love food. I try to grow some food in our community garden. I am constantly amazed at the potential of land and soil. I am a wanna be locavore - I use spices that I get from India. I try to make myself feel better by buying them in bulk. I am an architect by training. I like to keep trying to live lightly. I am a dreamer too. I dream of a world that is fair and beautiful.
What gifts can you give to Cleveland's local food community?
Enthusiasm. Energy. Love.
What knowledge and practices do you want to learn?
Season extension/Winter farming, and locally traditional farming options.
What about local food makes you most excited?
Building realtionships and communities around food. Not to forget challenges around the cooking itself!

okay, so the holidays are over and I feel as though I have a bit more time, we'll see if that's true. Anyway, we should get together soon. I prefer mornings, except Thursdays and Sundays. Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays work best I think. How about you?

it was a thrill to see you divya. the Urban garden association pressure group really needs to gain some traction and I'm certain our concerns will be heard. HEED the call> i'll be up there again thursday so you you think of anywhere in need do tell.

spices are meant to travese the planet! soybeans grown on illegally logged rainforest imported from brazil by cargill to feed chickens crammed onto horrid factory farms are not.
local herb hunting is exciting, Last year i made spinach pies with an abundant local weed. It's the kindof thing that really supplements a farm stand or potluck. I don't know enough of the weeds to pick but the OSU extention teaches classes on it
And speaking of green building. I would like to invest in/work for a rooftop garden contractor. whether or not it's safe to grow edible plants on rooftops. IT's certainly a storm water drainage and urban renewal solution we can't wait years for. It's gotta be ready for the spring!
